Future Stars is live in FC 27 Ultimate Team. Team 1 dropped on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 6 PM BST (10 AM PT), and Season 1 is still running. Like Ones to Watch and Destined for Glory before it, this is a live promo, but the rewards go further: a card can gain overall, a PlayStyle+ and a 5-star Weak Foot depending on how the player performs in their domestic league.
Below: the upgrade path, the Team 1 cards, and the SBC and Objective players rumored to follow.
How FC 27 Future Stars upgrades work
Every Future Stars card follows the same ladder, but the targets depend on position and league. Only domestic league matches count, and the player has to be in the match for it to register.
For most leagues (everything outside the Americas), the path looks like this:
Requirement | Upgrade |
|---|---|
4 starts | +1 OVR, up to a maximum of 86 |
8 starts | +1 OVR, up to a maximum of 87 |
ATT/MID: 7 goals and assists combined. DEF/GK: 4 clean sheets | +1 PlayStyle+ (max 1) |
ATT/MID: 10 goals and assists combined. DEF/GK: 7 clean sheets | 5-star Weak Foot |
NWSL, MLS, Liga MX and LPF players get a shorter ladder: 2 starts and 3 starts for the two +1 OVR steps (same 86 and 87 caps), 2 goals and assists or 2 clean sheets for the PlayStyle+, and 4 goals and assists or 3 clean sheets for the 5-star Weak Foot.
Two edge cases. If a player already has a PlayStyle+, he gets the base PlayStyle instead. If his Weak Foot is already 5-star, you get a Skill Moves boost. CM, CAM, LW, LM, RW, RM and ST count as attackers; CDM, CB, LB, RB and GK use the defensive targets.
The caps are the first catch: a 90-rated card gains nothing from the overall steps, so the value sits in the lower-rated cards. The second catch is timing. According to RealSport101, earned upgrades are not applied as soon as a target is hit. They go live on February 3, 2027, so this is a card you buy for the winter, not for next weekend.
Reading the live tracker
At the time of writing (October 12, 2026), RealSport101's tracker shows no upgrades live yet, so every card still sits at its release rating. The caps already tell you who can move:
Vicky López (90), Rio Ngumoha (89), Myles Lewis-Skelly (88), Mika Godts (88), Jacobo Ramón (87), Yoan Bonny (87) and Gilberto Mora (87) are marked ineligible for both +1 OVR steps.
Tom Bischof, Lily Yohannes and Lewis Hall (all 86) can only take the second step, up to 87.
Laura Blindkilde Brown, Robin Risser, Jon Martín, Josh King and Julian Hall (all 85) can take both, which would put them at 87.

If you want a card that will be better in February than it is today, an 85 with a clear route to 87 is a safer bet than a 90 that is already capped. The PlayStyle+ and Weak Foot steps still apply to everyone, so the high-rated cards are not frozen. Future Stars Team 1: the 15 players
The promo runs until the end of Season 1, and each squad is 15 players. The Team 1 list below comes from a leak published on October 6; the tracker above now lists all 15 as live cards:
Tom Bischof, Laura Blindkilde Brown, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Robin Risser, Lily Yohannes, Jacobo Ramón, Jon Martín, Rio Ngumoha, Vicky López, Yoan Bonny, Gilberto Mora, Mika Godts, Lewis Hall, Josh King and Julian Hall.
Team 2 is expected a week later, on Friday, October 16 at the same 6 PM BST slot. That date is an expectation, not an announcement.
Opening packs for one specific 85 is a gamble. If you would rather buy the card than chase it, top up your PC club before you start bidding.
SBC and Objective players (leaked)
Team 1 sits in packs only. The extra Future Stars cards are expected to arrive through SBCs and Objectives, and they should be live cards too. The list below is a leak from October 7. Two of its names, Carlos Espi (85) and Wieke Kaptein (84), already appear on RealSport101's tracker; the rest are unconfirmed:
Carlos Espi (Real Madrid)
Claire Hutton (Bay FC)
Will Lankshear (Middlesbrough)
Xavi Espart (FC Barcelona)
Wieke Kaptein (Chelsea)
Franculino (Trabzonspor)
Cora Zicai (VfL Wolfsburg)
Fer López (Wolves)
Othmane Maamma (Watford)
Divine Mukasa (West Ham)
Andrei Borza (Çorum FK)
Ilhan Fakili (Beşiktaş)
Ousmane Diabate (Gençlerbirliği)
Espi is the rumored headliner. The 21-year-old striker scored 11 goals in 25 appearances and won the Best U-23 Player award, and he stands 6'4". The leak expects the popular names to be SBCs, which means a decent amount of fodder. It is also unclear whether the list covers only Team 1 or the whole promo. If you want to compare any of these cards with the rest of the game, the top 100 player ratings give you a baseline.
Ultimate Scream, UEFA Road to the Knockouts, Hall of FUT Unleashed and Black Friday Thunderstruck are the scheduled promos after Future Stars.
FAQ
What is the Future Stars promo in FC 27?
It is a live promo for young prospects whose cards upgrade based on real domestic league performances.
How many starts do I need for a +1 OVR upgrade?
Four starts for the first step and eight for the second in most leagues. In NWSL, MLS, Liga MX and LPF it is two and three. Both steps are capped at 86 and 87 overall.
Do all Future Stars cards get the same upgrades?
The upgrade types are identical. The targets change with position and league, and cards already at or above a cap skip the overall steps.
Has Team 1 been released?
Yes. It went live on October 9, 2026 at 6 PM BST. Team 2 is expected on October 16.
When do Future Stars upgrades go live?
RealSport101 reports February 3, 2027. Upgrades are not added the moment a player hits a target.
Are the SBC and Objective players confirmed?
Mostly not. The 13 names come from a leak dated October 7. Carlos Espi and Wieke Kaptein already show up on the tracker; the other 11 should be treated as unconfirmed.
Conclusion
The +1 OVR steps stop at 86 and 87, so the best upgrade value sits with the 85-rated cards. The 88 to 90 cards are bought for their release stats. Upgrades are reported to land on February 3, 2027, so buy with the long run in mind. With Team 2 expected on October 16 and most of the 13-card SBC and Objective list still unconfirmed, your coin balance will decide how many of them you can afford.
