All ten new FC 27 ICONs with Champions ratings, PlayStyles, and face stats, plus how base, Champions, and Debut versions differ.

EA has confirmed the new ICON class for FC 27, and it runs to ten names led by Christine Sinclair at 91 overall, with Sergio Agüero, Raphaël Varane, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Formiga, Hege Riise, and Tobin Heath all landing on 90. Three of the five names our May leak flagged made the cut, two did not, and the class is six women to four men. Here is the full list of new FC 27 ICONs with ratings, PlayStyles, and face stats, plus how the base, Champions, and Debut versions differ and which one you actually get from packs.

What the leak got right and what it missed

Back in May we covered the first round of FC 27 ICON leaks, which named five players: Mario Kempes, Roberto Rivellino, Pepe, Sergio Agüero, and Raphaël Varane. Kempes and Rivellino were reported as locked in, while the other three sat in the heavily-linked tier.

The confirmed class inverts that. Pepe, Agüero, and Varane are all here. Kempes and Rivellino are not in the revealed group, despite being the two names leakers were most confident about. Anyone who read our original FC 27 ICON leaks breakdown got three out of five, which is a reasonable hit rate for a May leak and a useful reminder that "locked in" from a leaker means less than it sounds.

The bigger miss was scale. The leak framed five names as roughly a third of the class. The confirmed class is ten, and six of them are from the women's game, which no pre-reveal leak covered at all.

The three versions, and which one you actually get

The same player exists three ways in FC 27, which is where most of the confusion around these ratings comes from.

The base ICON is what packs and player picks give you. Those ratings sit below the table above and EA has not published most of them. Varane's base is reported at 88 against his 90 Champions version, so a two-point gap is a reasonable assumption for the rest.

The Champions ICON is the upgraded version, and every rating in the table above is a Champions rating. You do not get this one from a pack.

Then there is the Debut ICON, locked behind the Ultimate and Ultimate+ Edition pre-order bonus. You receive one random ICON from a pool of 18, and every new ICON in this class has a Debut variant. These land at 85 or 86 and upgrade themselves with improved stats by November 30, 2026, so the number printed at launch is not the number the card finishes on.

The practical takeaway: if you open a pack and get a lower-rated Agüero than the 90 you read about here, nothing is wrong. You pulled the base card.

Which of the ten are actually worth chasing

Rummenigge is the standout for anyone building an attack. A 90-rated striker with 91 pace and 91 dribbling, First Touch+, and Rapid on the base list is the profile that holds value through an entire cycle, and seven PlayStyles is the deepest set in the class.

Sinclair tops the class at 91 with 92 dribbling and 90 shooting, and Gamechanger plus Dead Ball adds set-piece value that the pure finishers do not have. Agüero is the more conventional pick at 90 pace and 89 shooting with Finesse Shot+, though 34 defending means he offers nothing outside the box.

At the back, Varane is the better all-round card. 90 defending, 84 physical, and 82 pace with Anticipate+ and Quick Step gives you a centre-back who can actually recover, while Pepe trades pace for aggression: 89 defending and 87 physical behind Bruiser+, but 80 pace and 68 dribbling make him a liability against the speed at the top of the FC 27 pace charts. Formiga is the interesting one at CDM, with 90 physical, 87 defending, and 87 dribbling on Intercept+, which is a rare stat spread for the position.

ICON prices peak in the opening fortnight while everyone is chasing the same four or five names. If you want to be building rather than waiting, you can top up your PS5 club before the market opens rather than after the first wave of buyers has already moved the price.

Where these ICONs sit against the other new rarities

FC 27 is adding tiers below ICONs as well. Hall of FUT arrives as a separate rarity honouring players who shaped Ultimate Team history, sitting under ICONs and Heroes rather than alongside them. When that rarity first leaked it was reported under the name Hall of Fame, and our breakdown of that leak covered the fifteen names attached to it, including Pato, Balotelli, and Fellaini.

That matters for how you read this ICON class. EA is spreading legend content across more tiers this year, so a name missing from the ICON list is not necessarily missing from the game.

When you can get them

Debut ICONs land with your pre-order bonus, which means the Web App is the first place most players will see one. That is expected on September 16, with the Companion App a day later and the full Standard Edition launch on September 25. Our FC 27 Web App and Companion guide covers who gets early access and why the Transfer Market stays locked for some accounts, which is the thing that decides whether you can trade an unwanted Debut pull on day one.

FAQ

How many new ICONs are in FC 27?
Ten have been revealed: Christine Sinclair, Sergio Agüero, Raphaël Varane, Formiga, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Hege Riise, Tobin Heath, Yūki Nagasato, Pepe, and Ellen White.

Who is the highest-rated new ICON in FC 27?
Christine Sinclair at 91 overall in her Champions version, with 92 dribbling and 90 shooting as a striker.

What is a Debut ICON in FC 27?
A pre-order exclusive version from the Ultimate and Ultimate+ Editions. You get one random ICON from a pool of 18, rated 85 or 86, and it upgrades itself with improved stats by November 30, 2026.

Do packs give you the upgraded ICON version?
No. Packs and player picks award the base version, which is rated lower than the Champions ratings EA has published. Varane's base is reported at 88 against his 90 Champions card.

Were the FC 27 ICON leaks accurate?
Partly. Pepe, Agüero, and Varane were all confirmed, but Mario Kempes and Roberto Rivellino, the two names leakers described as locked in, are not in the revealed class.

Final word

Ten new ICONs, three versions each, and a pre-order lottery sitting on top of it makes this the most layered ICON launch EA has run. Rummenigge and Sinclair are the two cards worth building around, Varane is the defensive pick that survives the pace meta, and the base versions you pull from packs will always be lower than the ratings quoted everywhere, including here.

ICON prices climb through the opening fortnight while everyone chases the same handful of names, and Rummenigge and Sinclair will be at the front of that queue. Visit FUTCOIN to buy FC 27 coins the moment the new season starts and get your ICON in the club before those prices settle.
